Music production
You can call us any time to do a recording session for you. Maybe you want to do some track laying, and a mixdown eventually.
But we can do more. If
you want, we can produce your entire album for you. This includes
registration, production of CD's, including artwork design.
We support beginning artists to produce their first album. We consider you as such when you have never recorded a real album before, although you may be active on stage or via the Internet. Maybe even burned an amount of CD's yourself.
For the beginner, getting attention is not simple. It is not easy to get noted by the record companies. Issuing your own album may be your only choice at the moment. We can be a great help in doing just that.
Studio costs can be a serious barrier for the starting musician, and we provide the sessions for your first album at an extremely low fare. You get a 5-day singer-songwriter session for a total of € 300,-- *.
We do hope the result encourages you to get back to us for your second album and pay for that one to help us promote the Albatross label in turn. But we won't even press you to do so. Please contact us to learn about our full conditions for this offer.
Of course you need a CD cover design. This we can take care of you as well, good and affordable by a third party. Price has to be negociated.
Normally, your CD replication, and song registration costs (if you are not the author) will be for you only. But we might like your music enough to be of help even here.

Your Demo
We will be happy to receive your demo and evaulate it. Please send a CD, or e-mail a few mp3's to Albatross Music.
Your demo needn't be a professional recording, as long as your talent as a songwriter or musician is clearly audible on your demo.
Our preferred genres are Acoustic, Folk, Folk-Rock, Jazz, Americana, Country, Celtic. The language does not matter.
Classical music is no problem; that's where we started anyway.
We believe there is an incredible stock of good music in this world that doesn't get enough attention. We also believe that the music business will only grow when more artists will be available on CD, and that the market should not be reserved for the happy few whom the big companies believe in. Artists Pool
If you are on your own, and you have the skills to accompany yourself on several instruments, no problem. If not, we can find you some session musicians willing to work out your ideas and add a bit more colour to your songs. Think of a nice sax or violin line, or a piano. Consider an extra background vocal.

Bandcoaching
Spend an afternoon making test recordings with support is also a possibility. You will get an idea how your recordings can sound ideally, and how well you perform under pressure. After that, you are better equipped to start recording your CD. Take the raw recording back home for reference.

'My First CD' - 5-day session: € 300,- per band member
Rehearsal session (1 part of a day) € 60,-- (all-in)
Booking just a few hours: € 40,-- per hour (all-in)
Speech tariff (one voice): € 30,-- per hour (all-in)
One day session:
Part of a day (morning, afternoon or evening session): € 210,--
One day: € 380,--
Ten day session: € 300,-- a day
Additional days: € 225,-- a day
There are no extra's to pay. The price you pay is all-in. We do not charge for tape costs, for sample CD's you get etc..
The clock does not start when you arrive. First we have a chat and a coffee, discuss the course of action, and then studio time starts, until the last recording of the session is OK. We tidy up in our own time.
Extra services
Master restoration
Old 'masters' may still sound terrific, albeit in a deplorable state. Please leave them alone, take them to us, and we will see what still can be done with them.
We can handle the following formats:
1/4" 2-track mono or stereo, 4-track mono or stereo, fulltrack, 4-track multitrack, 15, 7.5, 3.75, 1.88 en 0.94 ips (38, 19, 9.5, 4.75 and 2.4 cm/s)
1/2" 8-track or 16-track multitrack, 15 and 7.5 ips (38 and 19 cm/s)
1/8" (Compact Cassette) 4-track stereo of 4-track multitrack
NAB, Trident reels or NAB, AEG pancake.
For any other format, please call. Nothing defeats us.
Tape reconditioning
Tapes that have started suffering from binder decomposition, can be reconditioned under controlled temperature. We know how to do it.
If you need to recover one of your precious masters from the past, we can do the reconditioning for you. This is merely a service; we won't get rich charging you with € 50,- per tape.
